‘Sky, a man, land, and sea’ follows the life of Somrak Maneemai after moving back from Australia and settling in the South of Thailand. It is about his artistic practice, its process, inspiration, and direction.

The rhythms of his life and his art are in sync. There is sometimes a moment of uncertainty, then a pause to explore and re-evaluate, and, finally, a point where the artist chooses to believe his intuition, have fun, and be guided by his feelings.

His work reveals a relationship between Maneemai and his environment and the reciprocal effects. It is a reaction to the nature of material and movement of life, perceiving things from various points and perspectives.

The process draws from combinations between experience and experiment, the conscious and subconscious, reality and a dream-like state, and a balance between controllable and uncontrollable factors. This results in art pieces that are open, spontaneous, and free, unfolding a space where perception and imagination are constantly at play.
